Animal Nouveau Tarot - Major Arcana - Death

The death card, to me, has always been more about the rebirth and re-creation after a loss than the loss itself. It's a very personal card for me, and the phoenix is a very personal symbol for me so it seemed only fitting to use her on the card. This was the second card of the deck, and part of my proof of concept to see if a deck like this would work.

The Animal Nouveau Tarot is an in-process deck inspired by the animal kingdom and the works of Alphonse Mucha. Deck completion is currently scheduled for late 2020/early 2021 depending on my client workload and will be funded on Kickstarter. The original pieces are done in watercolor on hot press watercolor paper. The text was compiled in Adobe Illustrator.
